Be confident | 03.07.15

Hi my lovesss!
As I’m sitting here on a friday night writing this blog post, after working a long day of blogging at Flourish (which I LOVE),  the second I come home, I write a blog for you guys! (Even though this blog will go up on Saturday.) Who would have thought English not being my strong suit when I grew up, that I would be writing as a job; it’s funny how things work!
So today’s blog is going to be more on the personal side! We all have different opinions and thoughts on everything! The good ones aren’t always shared — on what we really truly believe in. If there is any way I can be inspirational to anyone, I will.  Really, my goals with my blogs and my youtube is just to inspire people, to make myself and people happy! Like Ellen Degeneres says, “Be kind to one another.” Recently, I have really been into Ellen’s video’s. I will just sit in my room for hours watching her videos on youtube for hours. No shame in my game! I get so thrilled when I keep watching her videos and watching her change people’s lives daily, and she’s the funniest person ever. She just loves helping people, and I love it. You don’t see someone that famous, or someone you look up to, want to help someone as much as she does. It’s amazing! She said something on one of her videos the other day, “There’s nothing else I would want to do than changing people’s lives, and doing what I do best on the show!” It makes me realize that’s what I want to do. And watching her show, seeing stories of people helping other people, makes you realize there are good good people in the world; we just have to find them. So I won’t make my whole story all about Ellen! 😉  The moral of the story — you might see these kind of posts once in a blue moon! 😉
There is no better way to collect your thoughts than to have a cup of coffee in knee high socks; am I right?!
One thing that I am so passionate about is music; it is just so powerful. These songwriters come up with lyrics: for things they believe in or things that are happening in their life! It is incredible! In the past few weeks I have really been listening to the words of “Try” by Colby Caillat. It’s about being confident with yourself.

One thing I find people have a hard time doing is to love themselves just the way they are. We often look up to people or celebrities;  wish we had their hair, body, face, clothes, etc. But we don’t see the process how they got everything they have. We all have flaws. We don’t typically see celebs without makeup on — we see them all fancied up, but, in fact, they do have flaws too. (Believe me, sometimes I wish I had Taylor Swift’s long legs, hair, etc! It’s okay to think that!) We have to remember, God made everyone how we are supposed to look. If we all looked the same, what would be different about us?!
So let’s get to the song. It starts out like this, “Put your make up on; get your nails done; curl your hair; run the extra mile; Keep it slim; So they like you. Do they like you?”
Sometimes we think for people to “accept us” or “think we are pretty” we have to wear makeup and do our hair or buy expensive things. It makes me sad that people feel so discouraged and they don’t feel pretty if they don’t have makeup on. Or if your wearing something you feel confident in, but people may judge you. You can’t go through life thinking what people think of you, because it’s not their opinion. You are you. You don’t need to try so hard to be someone you’re not.
“You don’t have to try so hard; You don’t have to give it all away; You just have to get up, get up, get up, get up; You don’t have to change a single thing.”
Don’t change who you are. Be confident. Be yourself.
Here is a picture of me without any makeup. The most important thing is to be confident in your own skin. Let people see the real you.
In life, there are SO many people you will meet. Do we really have to look prim and proper around other people so they will like you? Here’s the thing: If they like you or not, don’t worry about it. Don’t let it get to you. Sometime’s different people I talk to, I wonder if they like me or not — as much as I try to be nice and kind to everyone. In life, there’s typically always going to be people that don’t like you. Don’t let it change you or define you. Don’t even care for a second what they think of you, because you are perfectly and wonderfully made by God!

— Get your shopping on,
At the mall,
Max your credit cards
You don’t have to choose,
Buy it all
So they like you. Do they like you?–

Treat yourself. Love yourself. Buy flowers, ice cream, or in my dreams buy a Chanel purse. –Wait a second,
Why should you care, what they think of you
When you’re all alone, by yourself
Do you like you? Do you like you?–

–You don’t have to try so hard
You don’t have to bend until you break
You just have to get up, get up, get up, get up
You don’t have to change a single thing.–

One thing that really helps me, in general, is traveling. Like, how cliché, Lexi. I find myself again through traveling. Recently I went to LA by myself and visited family, and it was just what I needed. Sometime’s getting away from people you see all the time is what you need. I had the best time, and I felt like me again. I hope one day I can call LA my home; I am just happy there. In the above picture, I took this picture of all the traffic in LA, shine bright.

(Just loving LA everyday!)

And I know there are days were we don’t feel pretty or good enough. In the end, you have to realize you ARE good enough. And the days you feel like crap, it is okay to not be okay! That is why we have bad days!

I wanted to add my lokai bracelet on here(& look at that tropical drink!) Sometimes you’ve hit a low; stay Hopeful. Sometimes you’re on top of the world; stay Humble. The black bead holds mud from the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. The white bead holds water from Mt. Everest, the highest point on earth. Simply, whether you are having bad days or good days, stay balanced. Stay Strong. Live lokai. Sometimes when I am having a bad day, I turn to this bracelet (which sounds silly), but it’s the little things like this that get me through the day. This is something that I really truly believe in and is always a good reminder.

This next picture, I know it may seem like I’m sad, but it’s me.”Why should you care, what they think of you. When you’re all alone, by yourself. Do they like you? Do they like you?” I mean hair down, in an oversized sweater, dark lipstick. That’s truly my favorite look.
And the last part of the song is my absolute favorite. Definitely something to always think about.

–Take your makeup off
Let your hair down
Take a breath
Look into the mirror, at yourself
Don’t you like you?
Cause I like you–
Love yourself. You are loved.
(But really isn’t my photographer awesome?!?!? #blessed – Like his Facebook page!!! & you’ll see my face all over it! – Fox in a box photography)

— So I hope you all liked this inspirational post! I do want to note that these are MY opinions & thoughts! And this song by Colby Caillat, is just amazing. I absolutely LOVE when artists write songs about real life stuff that is happening. We all tend to look up to artists, and it makes it much more inspiring hearing words that need to be said from someone we look up to.
☻ I will have a fashion post soon! ☻ Have a good weekend loves!
